James Says
The airport's famous terminal building, designed by Finnish architect Eero Saarinen, is one of the most architecturally impressive in the USA, with an extension being in keeping with the original design.
Dulles has its own dedicated approach road extending beyond the " capital Beltway" which circulates around the US capital. Coach services are available between several locations in downtown Washington and Dulles airport, with an extension of the DC Metro system out to the airport also being planned.
Note that due to the large number of companies which are located in the suburban areas around Washington, the road network around Dulles can get extremely congested during peak times.

My only complain is that BA's Washington Dulles flights seem to use their 747-400s, whereas Virgin treat the route as a more prestige service, and operate their more modern Airbus A340s. Still, both are better than a tatty 767 to horrible BWI!
