If I want to get things done, I just unplug my modem and put it in another room. In this weather, will need to deflate bike tyres too!

As someone who just loves great cities, Toronto has everything New York does, without the ridiculously fast pace and the whole stuck-up superiority that makes New Yorkers think they are better than everyone else.
The other good thing about Toronto is that there are so many flights there from outside London - I usually go from Manchester, but flights from Birmingham can work out just as convenient.
I think a lot of people fly in, pick up a rental car and drive out - by all means explore the lovely scenery around Ontario and beyond, but don't forget to spend a few days in one of North America's great cosmopolitan cities!

Living in Larne, I'm almost tempted to pop across to Glasgow and get a flight to Toronto from there - I don't really fancy the trek down to Dublin (add an hour just to get to Europa Bus Station to start the journey south!) Also, I've been to New York before, and don't really fancy going that way - I've heard that taking connecting flights with Continental isn't really a good option anyway.
Any other suggestions?
