Swiss International Air Lines has announced it will offer 3 daily flights from London City to Basel, Switzerland from the 30th August 2004. The new flights will replace the current 3 daily flights from London Heathrow to Basel, with earlier departure times making them more convenient for business travellers.
The move follows the announcement that SWISS will no longer be joining the Oneworld Alliance with British Airways, discontinuing their codesharing arrangements with the exception of the London Heathrow to Geneva route.
SWISS will continue to fly 3 flights a day on the London Heathrow to Basel route until the end of October 2004, when the route will begin to be operated by British Airways.
From 30th August SWISS will offer 33 flights from the UK to Switzerland each day. These will include 7 flights from London Heathrow to Zurich, 10 flights from London Heathrow to Geneva, 4 flights from London City to Zurich, 3 flights from London City to Basel, 3 flights from Birmingham to Zurich, 2 flights from Birmingham to Basel, 2 flights from Manchester to Zurich and 2 flights from Manchester to Basel.
