easyJet launches two NEW routes from Nottingham East Midlands Airport: Cologne and Rome
Today easyJet launches two new routes from Nottingham East Midlands Airport to Cologne and Rome.
Celebrations for the launches will take place at the airport whereby passengers travelling on the inaugural flights will be welcomed at check in and offered themed food and drink relating to the two cities.
The daily services to Cologne and Rome, with one-way fares from £17.99 and £22.99 respectively (including taxes and charges), went on sale in April and there has been an outstanding response to these new routes with almost 30,000 passengers booked so far. The city of Cologne, founded by the Romans in 50 AD, is Germany's 4th largest city, with a population of one million. It's Cathedral is famous for its ancient Roman relics, and built in the spectacular valley of the Rhine river. Rome is one of the world's greatest cities, with over 2000 years' worth of sites and attractions in the Italian capital. The 1st century Colosseum, right through to the 18th century Trevi fountain are incredibly spectacular.
easyJet have three aircraft based at Nottingham East Midlands Airport and operate nine routes to six countries across Europe. This summer easyJet's capacity is almost 80% greater than the first summer's operation just two years ago.
