After a prolonged absence, British Airways is pleased to announce a resumption of flights between Tbilisi, Georgia and London. Services will recommence on the 1st November 2004 after a break in service of 18 months.
Flights will depart London Heathrow Terminal 4 at 13:20 on Friday and Sunday arriving in Tbilisi at 21:30 the same day.
Return flights from Tbilisi to London will depart at 10:30 and arrive in London at 13:15 local time.
The Tbilisi to London flights will be operated by British Mediterranean Airways, the sole British Airways longhaul franchise partner, using Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, offering Club World and World Traveller cabins.
Des Hetherington, Chief Executive of British Mediterranean Airways, said, " We are delighted to resume flights between Georgia and the UK on behalf of British Airways after such a long break. A resumption of flights has only been possible thanks to the support we have received from the new Georgian Government, the UK Department for Transport and the British Embassy in Tbilisi to whom we extend our gratitude."
Flightmapping comment:
This will undoubtedly be very welcome news for passengers looking for flights from the UK to Georgia, especially as Tbilisi is not very well served from any other European cities.
