Indian airline Kingfisher plans to launch its first international service next month with daily flights to Bangalore from London Heathrow.
The new Bangalore route takes off on September 3, and will pitch Kingfisher in direct competition with British Airways’ daily service from Heathrow.
The airline, which is owned by the same company that makes Kingfisher lager, intends to launch flights to 13 international destinations over the next year. Services would connect the carrier's Bangalore base to cities in America, the UAE, Thailand, the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
Kingfisher will use Airbus A330-200 aircraft on all its international routes.
