@Jodatu You wouldn't get 20 coaches into New St, and you'd have to raise the roof - forget it!

@Jodatu High speed should be just that - limited stop (which hs2 is), stations that provide onward connections (which hs2 does very poorly)
@Jodatu You wouldn't want 3 stations in Birmingham serving #HS2 - also, double deck, 400m long trains not compatible with classic track
@Jodatu You could make that argument about any central station or hub airport. Reality is, origin + connection passengers justify both

If there is one thing to check above all else when searching for South America flights, it is to make sure that you won't end up with ridiculously long connection times. I've even seen flights to Buenos Aires booked to take as long as 44 hours - when it can be done with a connection in around 17 hours - or a little under 14 hours for direct flights with BA.
The map only shows the direct routes, and obviously there are very few of these, so I've added a few extra cities which are still popular with travellers.
For more advice on how to reach any particular city, just click on that airport.
