What I don't understand is why they haven't just done the dirty deal with the devil most other UK airports have done and brought in Ryanair! They haven't exactly set up shop at Newcastle either, so the northeast must be crying out for more European routes.
Also, whoever allowed bmi to drop their flights to London should be hung out to dry - I can understand why bmibaby couldn't make much of a base as they aren't really a bargain basement airline, but a link to the capital is needed for business trips and all the connections through Heathrow.
I absolutely HATE Schiphol - all that walking, terrible to get worked up when in a rush to make a connection (KLM reliability isn't exactly perfect either).
