Flight Summary
Belfast is served by two airports, Belfast International (BFS) and Belfast George Best City. Belfast City is by far the closest to the city centre of Belfast and also has more direct access to Northern Ireland's motorway network, although Belfast International (BFS), which sits a few miles east of Lough Neagh, is in a more central position for the rest of the region.

James Says
Although the range of flights to and from Belfast has expanded greatly in recent years, there is always going to be a certain amount of leakage to Dublin. The Irish Republic's capital has a much broader network of flights to the USA, as well as a rapidly expanding network of no-frills flights to mainland Europe with Ryanair.
The major player offering cheap flights at Belfast is still easyJet, who initially concentrated their growth on the substantial UK domestic market. In recent years, easyJet have opened up new routes from Belfast to popular European destinations such as Prague and Málaga, with Jet2 joining in to offer further competition.
Back in 2005, Continental Airlines started daily flights from Belfast International to New York Newark, although the airline has threatened to axe the service if UK Air Passenger Duty continues to rise.
The one thing that Belfast still lacks is a decent network airline offering flights to one of the big three mainland European airports - Amsterdam (KLM), Frankfurt International (Lufthansa) or Paris Charles de Gaulle (Air France), leaving the Northern Irish capital without access to the massive range of connecting flights these airlines offer from their respective hubs.
