There is more to the much maligned capital of Belgium than EU bureaucracy. Brussels is a paradise for gastronauts, boasts some of the most atmospheric bars on the Continent and has a vast array of historical attractions, galleries and museums.

I'm sure Ryanair used to offer Bruges flights before - why don't they anymore, flights to Brussels are always so expensive, and Eurostar is still a pain to get to from West London!

Eurostar gives you free onward travel, but as you say, you still have to get to St Pancras. I think you are right about Ostend / Bruges, but Ryanair also used to operate a lot more flights to Brussels - or Charleroi at least. I think Eurostar have taken the lion's share of the market now.
