Aren't these flights ending in January? Do you think BA or Virgin will replace them?

  Yes, Air Seychelles stop offering flights from the UK to the Seychelles in January 2012. I would be very surprised if BA or Virgin don't take up the route. Another possibility would be one of the holiday giants like Thomson or Monarch stepping in.

  I would add a note to Mark's comments, in that Seychelles flights are already available from the big Gulf players - Emirates (vi Dubai), Etihad (via Abu Dhabi) and Qatar Airways (via Doha).
  
  As this is predominantly a leisure route, the option to go via the Gulf will appeal to many passengers, and we understand Air Seychelles were losing a lot of money on this route because of this intense competion from full service airlines with a very low cost base. On routes to key Asian cities like Mumbai or Delhi, there is enough demand to sustain multiple airlines on the route, and the business user will pay a hefty premium for the direct service.
  
  As neither of these apply in the Seychelles, it will be harder for a British based airline to pick up the route, but not out of the question. As destinations, islands in the Indian Ocean may often be compared to the Caribbean, but when it comes to flight routes, the commercial geography is quite different. However, there are still direct UK flights to Mauritius and the Maldives.

Ah, thanks for explaining it in those terms. I can see the commercial reality - although I'd much prefer direct flights, rather than having to go through the Gulf.
