James Says
If you are visiting other parts of Luxembourg there are various nearby airports in neighbouring countries, which tend to offer a much wider range of budget flights, as well as many more links with UK regional cities.
The cosy relationship that exists between Luxembourg airport and the national airline Luxair keeps competition at bay, but Ryanair hubs Frankfurt Hahn and Brussels Charleroi offer some attractive alternative options for people looking for cheap flights to Luxembourg.
However, any savings made can be wiped out by the extra cost and hassle of getting to and from a remote airport like Frankfurt Hahn. For these reasons, I would suggest that if you can't find decently priced, or convenient, flights to Luxembourg, then you might be better off by finding flights to Paris (CDG), Brussels, Cologne, Frankfurt or Amsterdam, and continuing by train from there. This becomes more relevant if your local airport only offers a very limited range of flights to Europe. For example, Amsterdam does at least offer the advantage of having direct flights from just about every international airport in the UK.
