For a long while, the Soviet flagcarrier laboured under the most unfashionable of reputations: the Skoda of the airline industry. Since then, the company has been semi-privatised and undergone something of an overhaul, replacing its outdated Soviet fleet with sleek, spacious Western models (much like Skoda).
Presently, Aeroflot flies to 96 destinations in 47 countries from its base at Moscows Sheremetyevo International Airport. The passenger verdict to the makeover has been mixed: while theres been clear improvement to business class services in particular, economy travellers will have to offset the companys competitive ticket pricing against the frustration of long boarding delays.
