HLX Express are a German no-frills airline owned by holiday giant TUI. The marketing proposition of HLX is to "fly for the price of a taxi", with their aircraft being decorated in a colour scheme reminiscent of a New York cab.

However they promote themselves, price should not really be so relevant to HLX, as all of the routes they operate from the UK to Germany are from regional airports outside London where they are not competing directly with any other airlines.
There is no particular set pattern to the routes HLX have chosen, although as with rival Germanwings, HLX operate more flights from the UK to Cologne than they do to any other German city, with new flights there from Birmingham starting this summer, following Germanwings’ decision to pull off this route.
