Profile:

Tom Dalrymple's Globepsan group has been offering holiday packages from Scotland for over 30 years, and budget airline Flyglobepsan is the company's response to the burgeoning no-frills flights market. The airline has extensive operations at Scotland's two main airports in Edinburgh and Glasgow, whereas attempts to invade London's Stansted hub have so far been less successful. Globepsan have recently abandoned all of their UK domestic flights, and opened up the first true no-frills competition to Easyjet for flights to Greece. 2006 has seen Flyglobespan start up an ambitious programme of long-haul flights, with the first true no-frills flights to Orlando (Sanford) having set off from Glasgow in June.  This route is now be supplemented with weekly Belfast to Orlando Sanford flights, and the upcoming Manchester to Cape Town service. Next year will see Flyglobespan expanding even further, with additional flights from Glasgow to Boston, Las Vegas and Barbados. The airline is also starting the first-ever flights from Liverpool to New York in March 2007.
