Cheap flights to Europe from Birmingham International Airport

Birmingham has a strong network of flights to European business destinations, supported by one of Europe's largest fleets of regional jet aircraft.
The demise of BA Connect has led to the withdrawal of some of Birmingham's European routes, most notably the cessation of flights to Berlin and Madrid - two of Europe's most important capital cities.
Flybe, who already served the largest number of destinations from Birmingham, have become even more dominant at Birmingham following the takeover of BA Connect.
Meanwhile, BMI Baby offer services to a good range of European holiday spots as well as major city-break destinations such as Amsterdam, Nice and Prague - although unlike on Birmingham's domestic flights, there is little competition between BMIbaby and Flybe on Birmingham's flights to Europe.
Additionally, many of the major European national airlines have feeder flights from Birmingham into their respective hubs, providing a high-frequency of service and plenty of opportunities for onward connections. This list includes Air France (Paris), KLM (Amsterdam) and SAS (Copenhagen), as well as airlines like Swiss (Zurich), SN Brussels (Brussels) and Lufthansa (Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich), who are less well represented at other UK regional airports.
Although flights from Birmingham to Prague have been available for many years (BMI Baby recently saw off Czech Airways from this route), routes to other new EU accession states have been much slower to develop - last year finally saw the first flights from Birmingham to Poland (Kraków).
As well as having a wide network of charter destinations, Birmingham airport is also a base for the charter-cum-budget operations of airlines like Monarch Scheduled and Thomsonfly.
