Flights to South Carolina - overview
Although there are no major international airports in South Carolina, coastal destinations such as Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Hilton Head Island all have a good range of connecting flights from the usual east coast hubs, such as Charlotte, Washington DC or New York. Most of the other towns in South Carolina have feeder flights from Charlotte, which is also only a short drive from the northern parts of South Carolina.
Alternatively, if you don't mind a slightly longer drive, allow around four hours to get from Atlanta, Georgia, to the western side of South Carolina, or a day's drive from Orlando, Florida, to Hilton Head on the southern tip of South Carolina, taking in Savannah, Georgia, on the way.
If you're looking for flights to Charleston, make sure you specify Charleston (CHS), South Carolina; as opposed to Charleston (CRW), West Virginia.
