Flights to Connecticut - overview
There are very few flights to Connecticut, essentially because of the state's close proximity to New York. Hartford is the busiest airport in the state, with smaller facilities at New Haven, New London and Groton.
The easiest way of getting to Connecticut from the UK is to find flights to New York Newark or JFK airport, and to continue by land from there. Now that Newark airport has an on-site Amtrak station (connected to the terminals via a monorail link), there are some through trains to Connecticut available from Newark. However, most of the time, you can expect a change of train at Penn Station in Manhattan.
Many of the suburban and regional trains which run between downtown New York and Connecticut use Grand Central station, which has regular shuttle buses running from both JFK and Newark.
Although there are a very small number of commuter flights from New York Newark to Connecticut, there are also regular transfers available by shuttle bus or private limousine service. Access to eastern Connecticut can easily be made from Boston’s Logan International airport.
