There are two major airports serving the Tampa Bay region - Tampa St Petersburg International (TPA) handles flights operated by major airlines including British Airways (direct flights from London Gatwick); whereas St Petersburg Clearwater (PIE) is more geared up towards budget airlines. New start-up airline Flywho (see warning) plan to start flights to St Petersburg from Birmingham in September 2006.
