Southampton has an extensive network of domestic flights, which is dominated by the regional budget airline Flybe. The airline has recently expanded the frequency of its flights from Southampton to Glasgow, with BA Connect (whose predecessor British Airways Citiexpress used to have a substantial base in Southampton) cancelling this route from October. The convenience of using the airport's compact terminal, which is adjacent to the Southampton Airport Parkway railway station, make Southampton the preferred hub for many passengers along the south coast. Southampton's route network will be enhanced further this October with the arrival of Flybe's new Embraer 190 jets. Flights from Southampton, which is part of the BAA group, tend to attract a high proportion of business travellers, although there are usually plenty of good value flights to be found. Nearby Bournemouth has had mixed fortunes developing its own network of internal flights, but you might still find cheaper flights from Bournemouth to Glasgow (Prestwick) or Dublin.
