Manchester Airport Parking

UK Flights > Car Parking > Manchester (MAN)

Manchester airport offers plenty of on-site multi-storey parking spaces, which are sometimes available for pre-booking through discount airport car parking websites. There are also several options for off-site parking, which are available through numerous airport parking websites. There are also several hotels on-site, or within the vicinity of Manchester airport which offer hotel and parking deals.

Can I leave my car at home, or am I better off parking it at Manchester airport?

Manchester airport is generally extremely easy to get to by train, with regular services to and from Manchester Piccadilly station, many of which continue onwards to other cities in northern England. Travelling to Manchester airport from the south on public transport is not quite so easy - there are no through trains to Manchester airport, but connections are available via Crewe or Manchester Piccadilly. The public transport interchange at Manchester airport, which has the station as well is a bus and coach hub, is situated between the terminals, and connected to them via aerial walkway. There is an impressive network of bus routes to nearby towns, many of which are not easily accessible by train. National Express coaches also provide links to destinations further afield. Unlike most other UK regional airports, Manchester is served by trains which run through the night, including some regional express services from cities such as Newcastle and Liverpool. Considering that parking at Manchester airport is relatively expensive when compared to most other UK airports outside London, we think the public transport is well worth considering.

Bottlenecks to watch out for near Manchester airport

Manchester is well served by the local road network, with a spur off the M56 leading directly into the terminal complex. Compared to other major airports of its size, we think that Manchester airport benefits from reasonably clear road access, although you should still allow plenty of time for any transfers between the car park and the terminals, or for the long walk between the station platforms and the check-in desks. If you are travelling to Manchester airport from the Midlands, then allow for the usual bottlenecks on the M6, and the tedious A556 link road between the M6 and the M56. It is worth bearing in mind that major events at any of Manchester's stadiums, as well as peak shopping periods at the Trafford Centre, can all add extra load to the roads around Manchester airport.
