Londonderry - Domestic flights summary:
Following pressure from Ryanair to improve its airfield facilities, this year has finally seen more scheduled routes opened up from City of Derry airport. After previously reducing the frequency of their London to Derry flights, Ryanair have recently started cheap flights to Derry from Liverpool and Nottingham East Midlands. The airport has some potential for further growth, not just because of an increase in visitor numbers to Derry itself, but also because of the huge amount of development which is going on throughout the nearby region, including towns such as Letterkenny across the border in the Republic. However, the catchment area is still relatively small compared to Belfast. Regular coach transfers are available from Belfast International to Derry - allow about 90 minutes for this journey.
