Gatwick offers perhaps the widest choice of airport parking options of any UK airport. However, the majority of Gatwick airport parking is in the sprawling surface car park which spreads out behind the Gatwick airport station, and which is reputedly the largest car park in Europe. The hassle of having to drag bags through central London can often be avoided by taking advantage of First Capital Connect (formerly Thameslink) through trains to King's Cross and Bedford, or connecting trains via Reading.

Road access to Gatwick airport is generally much easier than it is to other London airports, with a direct spur from the M23 providing a smooth link to the north and south terminals.
