Airport Parking at City Airport
London City airport’s location on a tiny slice of former dockyard means there is very little space for any kind of large scale parking provision. Just dropping someone off for a flight can be tricky because the airport traffic wardens give notoriously short shrift to anyone who even thinks about getting out of their vehicle to help a passenger take their bags into the terminal! Meanwhile, developers in this fast paced part of London are far more interested in converting former warehouses into yuppie flats then they are making land available for car parks. The airport parking operator BCP does provide a long-stay car parking facility within walking distance of the terminal building, in conjunction with London City airport. Limited, but expensive, car parking spaces are available directly outside the terminal.
Can I leave my car at home, or am I better off parking it at City airport?
Yes. Unless you simply can’t face public transport or taxis. With the recent opening of the DLR extension, London City airport has become much more accessible from central London, with plenty of local buses and taxis also being available.
