Inverness flights:
Most passengers starting long-haul journeys from Inverness will transfer through London Heathrow (BMI) or Gatwick (BA Connect), but the relatively low frequencies on these routes, combined with uncertainty over the future of the BA Connect brand following the recent takeover by Flybe, make flight connections through London inconvenient. For this reason, many passengers will opt to use other Scottish airports instead for their long-haul flights. The closest alternative is Aberdeen, from where a much better range of London shuttle flights is available, together with links to European hubs such as Paris and Amsterdam. The easiest way of reaching Aberdeen airport is to take the train to Dyce station, which is just a short taxi ride from the main terminal. If you’re heading to the USA, then Edinburgh and Glasgow both offer regular flights to New York Newark with Continental Airlines, with Delta also offering flights from Edinburgh to Atlanta. |
