Weekly flights to Toronto are available with Air Transat, but we don't expect to see a substantial growth in long-haul flights from Exeter, unless more airlines use it is an alternative to Bristol, whose runway has more operational constraints than Exeter. Onward connections are available through Paris or Amsterdam, but Exeter does not have anywhere near the number of links with major European hubs that Bristol boasts. Bristol also has the ace up its sleeve of direct flights to New York with Continental Airlines. Most passengers from the southwest still end up trudging to London for long-haul flights, and there are regular direct coaches from Exeter city centre to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
