Bristol flights:
The first regular scheduled long-haul flights from Bristol started in 2005, with the launch of Continental Airlines' daily flights to New York Newark. Bristol also offers charter flights to destinations such as the Gambia, Egypt, Tunisia, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. Onward connections to other long-haul destinations are usually taken via Amsterdam with KLM, although a number of the other scheduled airlines mentioned above can also offer a limited number of connecting opportunities. Whether or not a non-direct flight from Bristol is more convenient than a direct flight from London will depend on your own personal preferences. Heathrow airport can at least be reached relatively quickly from Bristol, courtesy of the regular rail-air coach link from Reading. National Express coaches also offer frequent services to both Heathrow and Gatwick airports from Bristol. Alternatively, it also might be worth looking at the small range of long-haul leisure flights from either Exeter or Cardiff. |
