Flights from the UK
Flights are available from the airlines listed below:
Ryanair's recent expansion at Shannon has seen new routes developed to Liverpool, Manchester Bristol, Bournemouth, Edinburgh and Nottingham East Midlands. This is in addition to their existing Shannon flights from Glasgow Prestwick, London Stansted and London Gatwick, although Ryanair will be dropping their Luton to Shannon flights, and Easyjet will be stopping their Gatwick to Shannon flights, in October. Whereas Aer Lingus continue to operate Shannon flights from London Heathrow, other airlines have pulled away from operating flights to Shannon, especially due to the dominance that Ryanair have here. There have also been allegations that Ryanair have received preferential treatment to set up a base in Shannon. This puts Shannon in the curious position of having routes from regional airports like Bournemouth, but not having any direct flights from major cities such as Birmingham or Newcastle.

European Routes
Ryanair have opened up a huge range of flights to Europe from Shannon, including several destinations in Spain, France, Italy, Germany and Poland. Additionally, the Polish budget airline Centralwings offer flights to Warsaw and Gdansk. Unlike Dublin, Shannon does not really have many opportunities for connecting flights via other European hub cities, but onward links are available via Dublin itself, or via London Heathrow with Aer Lingus. Additionally, Shannon has a good range of charter flights to various European destinations
Long Haul Routes
Shannon has a huge range of long-haul flights to the USA, and also to Toronto in Canada. This is due to the requirements of the Shannon Stopover Agreements, which dictate that every other flight between Ireland and the USA or Canada must be routed via Shannon. With the agreements due to come to an end in 2007, the future of long-haul flights from Shannon looks uncertain, although we would undoubtedly expect that some of these routes will still be maintained, especially if any special incentives are available to keep them going. Charter flights are also available to Toronto, and to Agadir in Morocco.
