Attempts to launch flights to Bilbao from other UK regional cities have proved less successful -- with Easyjet’s flights from Bristol to Bilbao only lasting one season. Other no-frills airlines do operate flights to Bilbao from within Spain, and also from cities such as Cologne and Stuttgart in Germany. Connecting flights to Bilbao are available with a very limited range of other European airlines, however Air France have multiple daily flights between Paris and Bilbao. Ryanair now offer the alternative of arriving at nearby Santander or Vitoria instead. However, if the purpose of your visit to Bilbao is to take in the city's numerous architectural attractions, then don't forget that Santiago Calatrava's stunning (and totally no frills airline unfriendly) airport terminal should feature at the start of any such tour.
