Slovakia's capital Bratislava has benefited well from the development of no-frills flights, and also from its close proximity to Vienna. Away from Bratislava, Sky Europe have recently started flights from London to Poprad, which provides easy access to the Tatry Valley, and Zakopane just across the border in neighbouring Poland. We anticipate there being many more routes between the UK and Poprad in the near future as the airlines spot the area’s tourism potential, but, for the time being at least, flights to Slovakia are still much more widely available from London than they are from other UK cities. If you don’t want to fly from London, it might be worth considering flights to neighbouring countries - for example Prague in the Czech Republic, or Krakow in Poland, have excellent links with British regional airports.
