Bucharest Any flights summary: Bucharest is served by two international airports, both of which have been renamed in recent years.
Bucharest has been off-limits for the no-frills airlines like Easyjet and Ryanair, but Easyjet are starting new flights there in October 2007.
Wizzair already operate cheap flights to Bucharest (Vlaicu).
Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP), which is situated in the suburb of Otopeni, is Bucharest's main airport and the hub for Romanian national airline Tarom. Bucharest's original Baneasa airport - now renamed after aviation pioneer Aurel Vlaicu – is set to become a major low-cost hub, and is one of the few which is closer to the city centre than the main airport.
Bucharest Any in a nutshell: Bucharest is the capital of Romania and the country's biggest city. Although parts of Bucharest is still plagued by monumentally ugly Communist architecture, including Nicolae Ceausescu's frankly ridiculous House of the People, many of the city's splendid 19th century buildings are being restored to their former glory.
