Should I get a hire car to visit Porto, or take the train up?
James Avery
I take it you have been to Lisbon before, as I think the Portuguese capital has plenty to offer, and I would visit it before Porto, although I confess I haven't yet been to either.
Car hire in Portugal is usually extremely cheap, but if you are travelling on your own, the train is usually a much more sociable option, and still cheaper than the car once you've factored in petrol costs and parking etc.
