James Says

It is a shame that most people heading to Stavanger are heading there on oil industry business, as the city is close to some stunning fjords. Having said that, this does at least mean that the list of direct flights to Stavanger above is much more comprehensive than it would otherwise be.

People looking for cheap flights to Stavangar can at least usually still find some good deals with Norwegian from Gatwick. Failing that, you can always look at flights to Haugesund from Ryanair instead. You are unlikely to save a huge amount on price by going this way round, but some people find Stansted airport to be a more convenient option, especially as there are no flights to Stavanger from the Midlands.

@Jodatu High speed should be just that - limited stop (which hs2 is), stations that provide onward connections (which hs2 does very poorly)

@Jodatu You wouldn't want 3 stations in Birmingham serving #HS2 - also, double deck, 400m long trains not compatible with classic track

@Jodatu You could make that argument about any central station or hub airport. Reality is, origin + connection passengers justify both
