Although some DIY connections might be made using domestic flights within Germany (German Wings have a particularly strong presence at Dresden), the easier option might well be to find flights to Berlin instead, and make onward connections from there by train. Direct trains usually run from Berlin's budget airline friendly Schonefeld Airport to Dresden every two hours, with a journey time of just under two hours. Dresden is also just over one hour's train journey from Leipzig, benefiting from a much faster ICE connection, although you will still need to add plenty of time to get to Leipzig station from either Leipzig Halle or Ryanair's alternative Leipzig Altenburg airport.
