Easyjet had already started cheap flights between Luton and Bremen when Ryanair decided to set up a major base there last year, but so far the only UK and Irish airports that they have opened up links to are London Stansted and Dublin.
In the meantime, there are various possibilities for flight connections to Bremen, usually via Amsterdam or Frankfurt. However, this can be much more expensive, not to mention less convenient, than flying to a different nearby airport (Hamburg or Hanover for example), and continuing to Bremen by road or rail.
Many UK regional airports now offer cheap flights to Germany, giving numerous possibilities for reaching Bremen without having to make a flight connection. Long distances can be covered surprisingly quickly in Germany thanks to the country's high-speed rail network (ICE) and comprehensive motorway (autobahn) system. Hamburg and Hanover are the most obvious alternative airports, but cities like Berlin, Cologne and Dusseldorf have much better links with the UK. Several of these airports have ICE stations on-site.
