Connecting flights to Berlin from Belfast

Belfast offers no flight connections via mainland European hubs, so if you want a through connection ticket you will have to fly via Heathrow. Fortunately, there is plenty of frequency on Belfast - Heathrow - Berlin Tegel (TXL) flights, either with Aer Lingus and British Airways or Bmi and Lufthansa. However, you might find it much more time efficient to travel down to Dublin, from where you can fly direct to Berlin Schoenefeld (SXF) with Aer Lingus or Ryanair. Schönefeld airport might be slightly further out-of-town compared to Berlin Tegel, but you can still easily reach central Berlin using the frequent regional and S-Bahn train services.

Result – the price differences show that it certainly worth popping down to Dublin and taking cheap flights with Aer Lingus in April. The gap narrows a bit in August, but Dublin still offers the best value on flights to Berlin from Ireland, which is hardly surprising following Easyjet's withdrawal of the route from Belfast. They claimed that the demand was not there, but in this case Easyjet's loss is Aer Lingus' gain.
