I'm looking at flights to Pula in May, and Thomson are £170, but Ryanair are just £62!

I've flown with Thomsons before and would be happy to use them again, but this price difference seems ridiculous. I've heard a lot of bad things about Ryanair, and haven't been with them yet, but I don't see why I should pay three times the price - even if I'd rather take flights form Gatwick, for the price difference I have no problem with heading over to Stansted, especially as the timings are reasonable.

  Ryanair are the airline everyone loves to hate - you can read our profile and user comments here - http://www.flightmapping.com/airlines/ryanair. If I could sum them up in a sentence, I'd say they are actually extremely reliable, but you don't want to be with them in the event that something does go wrong!
  
  At that price, I'd do exactly as you suggest - Thomson are more interested in selling complete holidays on those routes, so their flights are often uncompetitive - they tend to do the same for Greece, but they tend to me much more competitive on flight only deals to Spain.
