Flight Summary

Flights to Antwerp are available from London City and Manchester with Air France subsidiary CityJet. Antwerp is only a short train ride from Brussels, so if you can't direct flights, take a flight or the Eurostar to Brussels instead.

Destination Summary

Antwerp is known as the World's diamond capital, although defenders of Amsterdam would probably dispute this claim just as much as geographers will dispute whether or not Amsterdam is even the capital of Holland (or should that be the Netherlands?). Antwerp if fast becoming one of the best places to shop in europe and with good food, great architectural achievements such as Antwerp central station, it's a place you will fall in love with straight away. If you are looking to take a short weekend break to Antwerp on the train then it might be worth looking at Eurostar ticket and hotel deals. Even if you want to book a last minute trip, this can often be the best way to find a cheap city break.

James Says

Note that although there are trains from Brussels airport to Antwerp, these have to crawl through the three stations in Brussels city centre first, making the coach a much better option for getting from Zaventem to Antwerp. Whilst Eurostar offer the advantage of free onward rail travel within Belgium, the option of connecting trains from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is also worth exploring.

@Jodatu yes, but this is no standard line. Give it to an existing TOC and all the others will complain they have an unfair advantage

@Jodatu that's why the works are split into different sections. But the train manufacturers should be big enough to take on such an order

Flightmapping.com Flightmapping.com

@Jodatu I don't think they've got that far yet! Not seen any suggestion about who would actually own or operate the trains

@Jodatu i.e. their projections were wrong, but because of the bias, they used up that 'allownce' and came in 'on time'
