Further details about finding flights to Europe :
Direct flights
The onward march of the no-frills airlines has brought about a huge increase in the range of direct flights to Europe from throughout the UK. London in particular has seen more cities join its destination map than any other in Europe.
Regional departures and connections
Airlines like Easyjet and Ryanair have spread their wings throughout the UK, with their regional bases generally offering a watered-down selection of the routes they operate from London. Meanwhile, even though British Airways have recently withdrawn from the regions, a plethora of budget carriers have sprung up in recent years, including Flybe, BmiBaby, Flyglobespan and Jet2.
Compared to most other European countries, the UK is extremely well linked with the rest of the Continent. Fortunately, despite the incessant rise of the no-frills carriers, traditional hub and spoke airlines like KLM, Air France and Lufthansa have maintained most of their UK regional links.
Charter flights
The no-frills airlines might have driven some charter carriers away from operating flights to certain destinations in Spain, but charter flights remain the most popular way of getting to numerous European destinations, especially eastern Mediterranean hotspots like Greece, Cyprus and Turkey. Charter airlines also continue to offer a good choice of regional flights to Spain, and also making up a large proportion of winter ski flights.
