St Lucia's increasing popularity, especially for weddings and honeymoons, has encouraged new routes to be developed from Manchester in addition to the existing flights from London. Note that St Lucia has two airports – George F Charles (formerly known as Vigie), which handles local flights within the Caribbean and is close to the capital Castries, and Hewanorra International, which caters for long-haul flights and is right at the other end of the island, about one-and-a-half hours drive from Castries.
