Although sister island St Kitts has weekly charter flights from the UK, there are no long haul flights to Nevis. Recent airport improvements have included the construction of a modern terminal building, but the runway is still only long enough for use by regional aircraft. Nevis is well connected to neighbouring Caribbean islands, but many of these flights are fed through hubs such as St Martin or San Juan, neither of which has direct flights from the UK. It is generally easier to reach Nevis via Antigua. Regular passenger ferries also run between Charlestown in Nevis and Basseterre in St Kitts. Note: Guests of the Four Seasons Nevis can take advantage of the ferry service the hotel provides from St Kitts (including a brief minibus journey from the airport).
