Flights to Netherlands Antilles - Overview
The Netherlands Antilles can be split into two main island groups within the Lesser Antilles - in the north are the islands of St Eustatius (Statia), Saba and St Maarten (the Dutch side of St Martin); in the south are Bonaire and Curaçao. Aruba used to be part of the southern group of Netherlands Antilles islands, which were collectively known as the ABC islands, but became semi-autonomous in 1986.
Although there are no direct flights to any of these destinations from the UK, there are regular flights to St Maarten, Bonaire and Curaçao from Amsterdam. There are also regular flights to St Maarten (the island's main Juliana airport is on the Dutch side) from Paris. Please see our flights to St Martin/St Maarten page for further details.
The internal politics of the Netherlands Antilles is somewhat complex and the grouping as it currently stands will be disbanded on December 15 2008. Curaçao and St Maarten will achieve greater autonomy, but all of the other islands will form much closer ties with the Netherlands. However, none of these changes are likely to affect the availability of flights to any of the above destinations.
We hope that you have found this information about flights to Netherlands Antilles useful.
