@Jodatu You wouldn't get 20 coaches into New St, and you'd have to raise the roof - forget it!

Known fondly as Mo'Bay, it is blessed with superb natural features, year-round sunshine, a stunning coastline indented with white sand beaches and warm azure blue water. Most of the beach life centres on Doctor's Cave, famed for its coral gardens and relaxed atmosphere. Nearby Gloucester Avenue is where tourists head for duty-free bargains and souvenir shops and is also home to the Pork Pit, where you can buy traditional Jamaican jerked chicken and pork. At the end of Gloucester Avenue is Montego Bay's latest attraction, the Aqua Sol theme park. The heart of Montego Bay is Sam Sharpe Square, named after a slave leader who was executed after his sit-down protest escalated into a major uprising in 1831. Aside from relaxing the warm Caribbean sun, visitors to Montego Bay can also take excursions to some of the island's finest colonial-era houses, many of which are within walking distance of the town centre. Hotels in the area include some of the finest and most exclusive in the whole Caribbean, a host of package resorts, and small family-run establishments ideal for independent travellers. The busiest time of year in tropical Montego Bay is during the drier months between December and April. Temperatures rise during the summer, but so does the chance of getting caught in heavy rain showers. ; Donald Sangster International Airport, which is served by Air Jamaica, British Airways and a host of charter airlines, is just three miles from the town centre.

I know Continental go to New York, I wouldn't mind taking in a few days in the Big Apple as part of the deal if I could.

The easiest routing would be to drive or take the train down to Manchester Airport, and get a direct flight from there. I had a look at a few prices in early June - 2 weeks return flights were £530 with Thomas Cook. You can often get hotel and parking deals if you don't fancy an early morning drive down to the airport, or you could get and early morning train, the first one gets in soon after 8 with one easy change in Preston.
Going via New York complicates things. See our Antigua page - http://www.flightmapping.com/caribbean/antigua-barbuda/antigua - about some of my own experience looking for flights to the Caribbean via the USA. However, Jamaica is much closer, but the flight connections I looked at were all routing you via Heathrow and Miami.
I tried booking direct with Continental, but all the routings were via Houston, usually with another stop en route, making 4 flights each way. Then I checked the timetable, and that explained why. Basically, the Glasgow flight arrives in Newark about 2 hours after the Montego Bay flight departs, and then coming back, there's just 11 minutes between the two - certainly not enough for a connection!
You mentioned spending a bit of time in New York. You could certainly do that, either through booking a multi part flight, or by booking two entirely separate tickets. Bear in mind that if you only want to spend time in New York on one leg, you will be send via Houston in the other direction.
Personally, I'd make two separate trips - otherwise you will end up with completely different clothing and equipment for each, and you won't have any space in your suitcase for shopping. Jamaica and New York are two great destinations (but don't get confused with Jamaica in New York, that's where you change trains for JFK), and the best time to visit them isn't necessarily at the same time of the year either.
