Many of the direct flights to Kota Kinabalu operate from cities which are further to the east or South, although regular connections are also available through Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Alternatively, many travellers reach Kota Kinabalu through Brunei. Royal Brunei airlines offer one-stop flights from London to Bandar Seri Begawan, with easy onward connections. It is also possible to reach Kota Kinabalu by taking a very via the duty-free island of Labuan.
