James Says

Air France launched flights from Paris to Nagoya earlier this year, before leaving the route to Japan Airlines (JAL) to operate in a code share alliance. The application of JAL to join the rival One World network (Air France are a member of Sky Team), might bring this route into question. Lufthansa are now the only European airline to offer direct flights to Nagoya, with a daily service from Frankfurt. A number of other cities in Asia offer connecting flights to Nagoya, with Hong Kong and Seoul offering the best links. Connecting flights from Tokyo to Nagoya are limited in number, but they do at least depart from the city's international Narita Airport, rather than the domestic Haneda. Nagoya can be easily reached by high-speed Shinkansen train from either Tokyo (1 hour 40 minutes) or Osaka (one hour). Although Tokyo offers a much better choice of inward flights from the UK, Osaka is closer to Nagoya, and also offers a slightly easier rail link from the airport to the Shinkansen station. In either case, allow about one hour to connect between airport shuttle trains and the high-speed Shinkansen.
