There are no direct flights to Mozambique from the UK. This former Portuguese colony maintains a few weekly flight links with Lisbon, although you're also likely to find connecting flights to Mozambique's capital Maputo via neighbouring South Africa. Kenya Airways also offer some connections via Nairobi, which is less time consuming than having to fly down to South Africa and then doubling back in the other direction. The South Africa option gives a much wider choice of airlines which should mean slightly more competitive fares.

It is not easy to find onward connections to other cities beyond the capital Maputo, which is situated in the extreme south of the country, near its border with South Africa. It is however possible to find connections to cities like Beira (BEW) via Johannesburg, thus avoiding the need to make an additional stop in Maputo.

The poor availability of flight connections makes it difficult to find any cheap flights to Mozambique - you will do well to find any flights to Maputo for less than £700 with the major online travel agents (Ebookers, Expedia etc).
